Very different from the raw materials used in existing solar cells, the use of an element called &quot;dye&quot; makes it possible to generate electricity. The major characteristics of this new type of solar cell are its extremely simple structure, which consists of a transparent glass that conducts electricity, a titanium dioxide film that absorbs dye (ink or other coloring material), and an electrolyte sandwiched between them, and its electrochemical cell structure via an iodine solution, which is silicon-free and increases the light-absorption efficiency. In addition, the low cost of the materials makes it possible to reduce costs in manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>Dye-sensitized solar cells can use a variety of colors of dyes, allowing for the production of cells with a high design quality, and they can also generate electricity even in low light levels. In addition to existing silicon solar cell applications, they can also be used for internal sensors and interior design.
