Ferro-resonance is a resonance phenomenon caused by nonlinear inductance and system capacitance when inductors with iron cores coexist with capacitors in an electrical circuit. It occurs due to magnetic saturation of the iron core following abrupt electrical changes, notably in power systems with transformers and high-capacitance cables, potentially causing overvoltages and equipment damage due to its nonlinear and unpredictable nature.<\/p>\n

In the electrical engineering industry, minimizing the impact of ferro-resonance involves the installation of proper protective devices and the appropriate design of transformer and cable capacities.<\/p>\n
