An independent power producer is a business or company that wholesales electricity produced by its own power generation equipment to electric power companies. Also called wholesale power business. As electricity retail liberalization progresses, IPPs are expected to have the effect of stimulating trade in surplus electricity.<\/span><\/p>\n
