Electricity generated by thermal power has only physical electricity value, but renewable energy generated by solar and wind power has both physical electricity value and environmental value. Non-fossil certificate is a certificate that certifies the “environmental value” of electricity generated using non-fossil power sources such as renewable energy.<\/p>\n
The certificates visualized in this way are bought and sold between power generators and retail electricity utilities. Non-fossil certificates purchased by retail electricity companies are considered “electricity with environmental value”, so companies that purchase electricity from these companies can be assured that they are “using environmentally friendly electricity that does not emit CO2”. <\/p>\n
