「両面発電モジュール」ともいう。セル両面に電極を備え、裏面でも受光し発電するため、従来型では利用されない地表面からの反射光や散乱光など裏面への入射光も取り込んで発電する。従来の片面発電パネルと比べて5～20％もの発電量の増加効果が期待できるといわれている。

Equipped with electrodes on both sides of the cells, Bifacial PV module can receive light and generate electricity from the rear side as well. This allows them to capture incident light from the ground, such as reflected and scattered light, which is not utilized by conventional single-sided panels. It is said that they can achieve an increase in electricity generation of 5-20% compared to conventional single-sided panels.
