高効率、大面積の太陽電池の一つである。バックコンタクト型太陽電池には、MWT、EWT、IBCセルがあるが、MWTとEWTでは変換効率が制限される。IBCセルは、前面に集められたキャリヤーが基板を介して背面の電極まで遠距離に広がるため、量産のIBCセルは、非平衡少数キャリヤーのある寿命の高いN型単結晶シリコン基板を採用した典型的なN型電池である。

Back contact batteries include MWT, EWT and IBC batteries, the conversion efficiency of MWT and EWT batteries is limited to a certain extent, and the theoretical conversion efficiency of IBC batteries is higher. Because the carrier collected on the front surface of the IBC battery has to be diffused through the substrate to the back electrode at a long distance, the mass-produced IBC battery generally uses the N-type monocrystal silicon substrate with a non-equilibrium few carriers and a high lifetime, which is a typical N-type battery.
