V2Hとは、Vehicle（車）からHome（家）という意味で、自宅の充電コンセントを電気自動車用の充電設備としてだけでなく、電気自動車のバッテリーに貯められている電気を自宅へ流し、自家消費を可能にしたシステムのことである。
V2Hは家庭用蓄電池のようにバッテリーを搭載されていないため、設備本体に電気が貯まれないところは家庭用蓄電池との違いである。
